The Chain Killer

Summer of 2016

Jay and Ryan found this ATV for sale on the side of the road while on vacation in New Hampshire. After a test drive and some good old fashioned haggling, Jay and Ryan drove home to pick up Jay’s trailer and get some money. They drove for a little over 4 hours in total just so Ryan could buy this ATV. And it’s a good thing they did.

Ryan’s ATV had a consistent problem where the chain would fall off of the gears and get stuck in between the gear and the metal frame next to it. That’s how his ATV got the name “The Chain Killer”. This happened frequently and the more it happened the better Jay and Ryan got at it fixing it. However, one of the first times it happened, they got stuck in the woods for over 3 hours trying to fix it. Jay and Ryan retell that story in this video. Eventually Ryan bought a new chain and adjusted the slack on the ATV, and the chain hasn’t fallen off since.

During one of their many ATV trips, Jay and Ryan found a patch of sand dunes. After that, Ryan’s ATV wasn’t running great. Due to this, he took out his carburetor, cleaned it, and finally used the carburetor rebuild kit that he bought before Episode 1. After that his ATV was running well again. It won’t stay that way forever.

Once again Ryan’s ATV wasn’t running great. He finally realized that there was too much corrosion built up on his carburetor, and a vacuum leak caused by some rust holes. He ordered a new carburetor and installed it. His ATV is running better than ever.
